Access
The Italian Conducting Academy offers the following courses:
– THREE-YEAR ADVANCED TRAINING COURSE
– TWO-YEAR MASTER’S COURSE OF ADVANCED TRAINING
– ANNUAL COURSE
Musicians of all nationalities who meet the following requirements may participate:
– maximum age for access to the three-year course: 30 years old by 31 December 2025 – no age limit for access to the annual course and the two-year advanced master’s degree
Listeners
At the discretion of the teacher, listeners are admitted (exclusively for orchestra rehearsals) .
Meeting organization
Eight appointments organized from January 2026 to December 2026. Each theoretical and practical session will preferably take place during the weekend, from Friday to Sunday. The orchestra engaged for the lessons is the Italian Philharmonic Orchestra . The number of days dedicated to orchestra rehearsals will be in relation to the number of students enrolled. The first theoretical lesson will take place in January 2026 (date to be confirmed). If necessary, the Teacher may be assisted by an assistant.
APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION
Documents required for registration:
- Educational and artistic qualifications held
- Short biography (max 10 lines)
- Link with one or more videos (max 15 minutes – if possible with various repertoire, with orchestra or ensemble)
- Color photograph of the face in high resolution digital format (1200×1600)
- Identity Card or Passport
- Fiscal Code (for Italians) and/or VAT Number for the invoice
- Scan (no photo) of the PDF of the complete bank transfer, with the payment details and the name of the payer
- Complete personal data
The entrance exam with orchestra will be held on October 4, 2025 at 5:00 pm with the following program:
MOZART: Don Giovanni, Overture
DVORAK: Symphony No. 8 in G major, op.88
Candidates residing abroad, unable to attend in person, may submit an application for admission by requesting the evaluation of the videos submitted.
Terms for registration
The application for enrollment, drawn up according to the model of the form provided, must be received online at the following address, no later than September 30, 2025.

The candidate is required to make a payment of €200 by bank transfer, which will not be refunded under any circumstances.
Please note that candidates from non-EU countries must have a valid visa and residence permit, which are necessary to cover the periods of attendance at the lessons.

The general schedule of lessons will be communicated later.
By enrolling in the course and signing the regulations, the student undertakes to pay the full fees required for annual attendance and registration, even if he or she suspends participation in the course for any reason.
Student absences
Attendance at the theoretical lessons preceding the orchestra rehearsals is mandatory and, in particular cases, absence may result in exclusion from the orchestra rehearsals.
Teacher absences
In case of sudden absences of the Teacher (illness or other), the lessons will be made up in a period chosen in agreement with the students and the availability of the orchestra and may possibly be held by an assistant.
Diploma exam
Admission to the final exam will be subject to overall attendance of the three- or two-year period and must not be less than 80% of the lessons attended. The admitted student must submit an application according to the methods that will be communicated later and pay the fee required for the diploma. The final diploma may also take place in the form of a public concert and the date may be set in a period that may be after the end of the academic and calendar year.
Acceptance of regulations
By signing the student undertakes to accept without reservations the regulations of the Italian Conducting Academy.
Guidelines
Any behavior contrary to good relations with classmates or disturbing the normal course of lessons, as well as impolite, at the sole discretion of the Teacher may be cause for expulsion from the Academy. In this case, the student will not be entitled to a total or partial refund of all fees paid.
Please note that all photographic, audio and video recordings made by ICA during lessons are property of the school. Each student may make recordings using personal equipment.
Controversies
For any legal dispute, the Italian text will be valid and the Court of Milan will have jurisdiction. The ICA management reserves the right to make changes to the regulation and calendar due to emergencies, such as: natural disasters, wars, epidemics or other critical situations that involve restrictions to the circulation and transportation of goods and people.
